What this site is
Grass Zoysia is a guide to one kind of lawn. It covers the species and cultivars, planting, mowing, watering, fertilising, weeds, pests, dormancy and the choice between zoysia and other grasses, and it adds three tools: a cultivar chooser, a care calendar and a lawn calculator.
How we write it
Advice is drawn from university turfgrass extension publications, including Clemson, NC State, the University of Georgia, Texas A&M AgriLife, the University of Florida and UC IPM. Each guide lists its sources and links to them. Where the sources disagree we say so, and where we found no data we leave the cell blank rather than guess. We do not publish prices, product endorsements or performance numbers we cannot trace.
Local advice beats general advice
Timing and rates change with climate and soil. The best local check is a soil test and a word with your county extension office.
